Bobby Simmons is a former NBA veteran, entrepreneur, and player development advocate who now serves as Brand Ambassador for NXT MOVE+. With over a decade of professional playing experience and years spent working in player development with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), Bobby brings an invaluable perspective to the NXT MOVE+ mission.

Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Bobby’s journey from inner-city standout to NBA Most Improved Player is one built on resilience, leadership, and vision. After a standout collegiate career at DePaul University, Bobby was drafted into the NBA in 2001 and went on to play for multiple franchises over 11 seasons — including the Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and New Jersey Nets. In 2005, he earned the league’s Most Improved Player Award after a breakout season with the Clippers.

Following his NBA career, Bobby transitioned into entrepreneurship and mentorship, founding a range of businesses in Chicago while remaining deeply rooted in community empowerment. He later joined the NBPA, working directly with active and retired players in career transition, education, and personal development programming.

Today, as Brand Ambassador for NXT MOVE+, Bobby plays a pivotal role in inspiring the next generation of athletes to think beyond the game. His insight, authenticity, and firsthand experience navigating both pro basketball and life after it make him a powerful voice for athletes preparing for what’s next.
